Have Questions? I’m Here to Help.
I’ve gathered answers to the questions people ask me most – from how each piece is made to what materials I use, how to care for your jewelry, and when it’ll arrive.

Jewelry Design
Ever wonder what sparks a design? Step inside the creative process – from sketch to final hand-wrapped detail.
Wire-wrapped jewelry is made by shaping metal wire – by hand – around stones to create intricate, secure, and beautiful designs. It’s at the heart of what I do.
Every wrap and weave is done by hand. And this allows for truly expressive, one-of-a-kind designs.
Want to see the process in action? Join my newsletter Behind the Wrap. There, you can watch your favorite pieces take shape and get early access to new jewelry designs before anywhere else.
I’m often inspired by the world around me.
Golden light filtering through the trees. The shimmer of water along the shoreline. The rhythm of wind brushing through tall grass.
Every piece is designed to be a tiny reflection of somewhere you’ve been or someplace you want to return to – wearable art that resonates with your personal journey.
Yes! My collections are often inspired by the changing seasons, natural landscapes, and the feelings they bring.
Some designs begin with the warm, golden haze of late summer. Others with the vibrant colors of autumn leaves. But whether they’re inspired by misty winter mornings or shells found at shore, I hope your jewelry connects with something deep within you.
Wire-wrapping is at the heart of what I create.
Every piece begins as a sketch. Then I bring it to life, shaping metal around stone using a mix of techniques like wire-wrapping, weaving, coiling, and sometimes a touch of soldering.
I pay careful attention to detail so every piece feels as meaningful as the story it tells. Every curve, coil, and detail is done by hand, using sterling silver or gold-filled wire, until it’s ready to be part of your story.
It takes time to bring each piece of jewelry to life. From selecting just the right stones to shaping every curve by hand, I work slowly to make sure every coil and connection feels strong, balanced, and beautiful.
It can take between 3 to 7 business days to complete your jewelry, depending on the complexity of the design and how many orders I’m working on at the time.
This attention to detail ensures your jewelry looks beautiful, stays durable, and is well-made – ready to be part of your story.
Yes. No two pieces are ever exactly the same – because no two stones are.
Every stone has its own shimmer, pattern, or subtle mark. Every pearl, a slightly different curve. Every stone a little bit different, each a little imperfect. These natural variations give every piece a voice of its own.
This means each piece of jewelry is truly one of a kind – designed by hand and shaped by nature. When you wear one of my designs, you’re wearing something truly unique, made just for you.
The best way to see how each piece comes to life is through my newsletter, Behind the Wrap.
There, you can follow jewelry from concept to finished piece. I share behind-the-scenes glimpses – progress shots, sketchbook pages, new ideas – jewelry tips, and early access to new collections. It’s a look inside my creative process and a way to connect more deeply with the pieces you love.
If you’d like to see how my jewelry takes shape, I’d love to have you join us.

But my newsletter subscribers get the earliest look – before anywhere else. My newsletter Behind the Wrap is the best way to stay connected with what’s unfolding in the studio and see sketches brought to life.
I want to create jewelry that resonates with you. If you’re drawn to a certain stone, metal, or style, let me know!
Though I don’t currently offer custom modifications or made-to-order adjustments, I’d love to hear from you. In fact, many of my collections are shaped by the requests of past customers. So drop me a message, and your feedback might inspire something in a future collection!
Materials & Craftmanship
Learn what makes your jewelry feel so good to wear. Natural stones, fine metals, and artisan techniques come together to tell a story you can wear.
I want your jewelry to last and feel good to wear.
That’s why I use materials found in nature – genuine gemstones, freshwater pearls, shells, and wood – paired with sterling silver and 14k gold-filled wire.
I never use plated base metals, plastic, glass, or mystery alloys that can irritate your skin, dull, or chip over time.
I choose materials for their lasting beauty and how they feel against the skin. And because of the unique nature of natural materials, your jewelry is truly one-of-a-kind.
I believe the materials matter just as much as the design.
-
No two pieces are exactly alike – just like the people who wear them. Each stone might be slightly different in color or pattern. Every pearl has a slightly different shape. They carry subtle textures, one-of-a-kind markings, that make every piece of jewelry truly unique.
-
Natural materials tell their own story. A gemstone might have a soft inclusion, a pearl might have a wilder curve, and wood may reveal a different grain pattern. They’re what make every piece feel a little imperfect and alive.
-
Natural stones and metals don’t just look beautiful – they wear beautifully over time, holding up through years of love and use.
These natural variations are what make each piece feel special, made just for you.
I love natural materials not just for their beauty.
-
Glass and plastic often lack the personality that natural stones have. Natural stones, pearls, and shells hold stories in their tiny inclusions, organic shapes, and subtle differences.
-
Natural stones can stand the test of time. Glass can shatter and plastic can fade. Natural stones age well and can stay strong through years of wear.
That’s why I choose natural materials – so your jewelry feels real, meaningful, and made to last.
I want your jewelry to last.
-
Gold-filled wire is made with a thick layer of real gold permanently bonded to a base metal (often brass). This gold layer is about 100 times thicker than gold-plating – which makes it much more durable and fade resistant.
-
Gold-plated jewelry has just a whisper-thin coating of gold that tends to rub off quickly, especially with moisture or friction.
I never use plated materials. Only 14k gold-filled wire that looks and wears like solid gold – without the cost.
With proper care, your jewelry will keep looking just as beautiful as the day you bought it for many years.
Both sterling silver and 14k gold-filled wire are high-quality, nickel-free metals safe for most sensitive skin.
-
Sterling silver is solid, not plated, and normally tolerated well by those sensitive to metals.
-
Gold-filled wire offers the best of both worlds: the look and feel of solid gold, with durability that lasts for years. Unlike gold plating, which can wear off quickly, gold-filled wire has a thick layer of real gold bonded to a base metal. It won’t flake like plating, and it stays gorgeous with proper care.
Sterling silver and 14k gold-filled jewelry feel good on the skin – and that’s what I love.
That’s the beauty of jewelry made with natural materials – they each carry their own story.
-
Pearls often form with unique curves and irregular shapes.
-
Natural stones may show soft inclusions – mineral crystals, tiny fractures, surface marks – or shifts in tone or texture.
These subtle details are what give your jewelry character. They’re part of what makes each stone – and each piece of jewelry – feel alive, personal, and one of a kind. That’s what makes a piece truly yours.
Every piece of Woven Earth Jewelry is handcrafted in my small independently-owned U.S.-based studio.
A lot of care goes into every detail. From the initial sketch to the final polish and packaging, I personally design, shape, and finish every piece of jewelry that lands in your hands.

Jewelry Care & Wear
Treat your jewelry with a little love, and it’ll love you back for years. Learn how to keep your favorite pieces glowing and gorgeous.
Yes! I use only high-quality, nickel-free metals that are gentle on sensitive skin. These are the same metals used in fine jewelry.
-
Sterling silver (92.5% pure silver) is safe for most sensitive skin
-
14k gold-filled wire contains 100 times more gold than plated metals and won’t flake off or irritate your skin with proper care.
I want your jewelry to feel good on your skin.
That’s why I never use plated, low-grade, or mystery metals in my work. These often contain nickel or lead.
Absolutely.
I make your jewelry to be worn and loved. Each piece is crafted with secure wraps, strong metals, and solid construction so they can handle everyday wear.
That said, even strong handmade jewelry appreciates a little care. To help them stay beautiful for years:
-
Take your jewelry off before swimming, showering, or doing heavy hands-on work.
-
Always apply lotions and perfumes before you put on your jewelry.
-
Avoid harsh chemicals, cleaners, abrasives, or sprays directly on jewelry.
-
Store your jewelry carefully to avoid scratches, separately in a soft pouch, container, or jewelry box.
With the right care, your jewelry will look and hold up beautifully over time.
It’s best to take your jewelry off before workouts – even light exercise.
Exercise puts a lot of pressure on delicate curves and connections. Sweat and quick movements can also loosen wraps or tarnish your jewelry over time.
Wire-wrapped jewelry is strong, but it’s also delicate. Let your jewelry rest while you move – and put it back on when you’re done.
I recommend taking your jewelry off before showering.
Water, soap, shampoo, and steam can accelerate tarnishing, loosen stones, and damage delicate components. Even gold-filled jewelry doesn’t like to be constantly wet.
Instead, give your jewelry a cozy, dry spot while you’re getting clean.
I love that you want to keep it close – but even your jewelry needs a good night’s sleep!
Sleeping with jewelry on can stress the design or cause it to catch on fabric, potentially warping delicate wires or loosening wraps.
It’s best to remove your jewelry before bed. Go ahead and tuck jewelry away into a soft pouch or container on your nightstand. You’ll sleep better knowing it’s safe, and so will your jewelry.
Sterling silver naturally darkens over time – especially when exposed to air, moisture, or chemicals. Gold-filled jewelry is more resistant, though it still appreciate a little care.
If your jewelry is looking dull, all it needs is some extra love to get that shine right back.
-
Wipe it gently with a soft cloth after wearing
-
Store it in a dry, airtight container
-
Use a soft polishing cloth on sterling silver to restore shine
Tarnish is normal – but it’s also reversible. With just a little maintenance, your jewelry can stay beautiful for years.
Natural materials and fine metals are made to last – but a little care goes a long way.
To help your jewelry stay beautiful:
-
Keep pieces dry and out of direct sunlight.
-
Store jewelry in a soft pouch or jewelry box (away from other items) to prevent scratching or tarnishing. A small velvet pouch is included in all orders!
-
Avoid contact with water, perfumes, lotions, or chemicals.
-
Gently clean with a soft cloth to remove oils or dust.
-
Don’t swim, shower, or sleep in your jewelry.
Sterling silver may darken over time (that’s normal), but a silver polishing cloth will bring the shine right back. I include a free polishing cloth and anti-tarnish strip in all sterling silver jewelry orders.
With just a bit of care, your jewelry can stay beautiful for years to come.
The way you store your jewelry makes a big difference in how long it lasts – and how good it looks over time.
Try these tips:
-
Keep it dry: Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place. Airtight is best. Otherwise, somewhere away from humidity. Bathrooms can quickly tarnish jewelry.
-
Separate pieces: This helps prevent tangling and scratches. It also keeps fine wirework from rubbing against delicate stones. A soft pouch or lined jewelry box offers great protection. I include a small velvet pouch with every order for extra padding and protection.
-
Use anti-tarnish strips: Tuck a strip into your storage container to slow oxidation. This little trick can really help keep tarnish away. I also include a free anti-tarnish strip when packaging up all orders to keep your jewelry looking its best.
Proper storage helps prevent tarnish and damage, so your jewelry stays beautiful for years to come.
Regular cleaning keeps your jewelry looking its best. It’s super simple and easy to do too.
-
Everyday care: After wearing, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft microfiber cloth to remove any skin oils or residue. For sterling silver, a polishing cloth brings back shine. I always include a free polishing cloth when packaging silver jewelry.
-
Deeper clean (as needed): Mix warm water with a drop of gentle dish soap in a small bowl. Wipe your jewelry with a damp cloth and use a soft toothbrush to gently clean around wraps and stones. Never soak pearls or porous stones. Rinse with fresh water and pat your jewelry completely dry with a soft cloth.
Avoid harsh chemicals and jewelry dips that could damage your jewelry. Commercial cleaners might be too harsh depending on the type of stones and natural materials that make up your piece.
